While glaucoma in infants and children happens only in one out of several thousand births, it is vitally important for new parents and pediatricians to be aware of its signs and symptoms. We have devoted an entire section to this subject (Children and glaucoma). This is because the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma in kids are different in many ways from adults and should be handled by a fellowship trained glaucoma surgeon, or specialist in pediatric eye surgery.
